MC-42466Java constantly crashes minecraft

What I expected to happen was...:
In all modes whether single or multiplayer the game should run and did so up to about 2 weeks ago.
What actually happened was...:
Games freezes and I get a "Java TM Platform SE binary is not responding" I have re-installed Java, changed the video settings in the game following the forum steps but nothing works.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Minecraft launcher - wait for the profile to load and click PLAY
2. When game menu opens - click multiplayer
3. Choose server - click join server
4. Game starts to build graphics and crashes

Windows 7 - 32 bit. Java version 7 update 45
