MCL-14741Output log doesn't autoscroll by default
I'm not sure if this counts as a bug or an idea, but I feel that this is so minor that it doesn't really matter.
As for the issue itself, it's pretty self-explanitory. autoscroll is implemented in the launcher's output log, but it doesn't do it by default. Instead, you need to scroll manually all the way down for it to happen. I believe that this should be at the very least an option, perhaps enabled by default.

I know what you mean and I've missed this functionality too. However this works as implemented so your request will be resolved. To see this feature be added, I would recommend that you head on to our feedback site and leave this suggestion there!
