MCL-19284Launcher doesn't say that it can't connect to auth.mojang.com
The launcher just says that the login information is not correct if it can't open a connection to auth.mojang.com, which can be confusing for users if the server is down, their DNS is not working correctly, or their hosts file redirects auth.mojang.com to somewhere else, whatever the reason for that may be.
Environment
The hosts file was edited on Windows in %windowsdir%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
