IT'S INTENDED!
This needs to be fixed it pains me that it's like this there's also a problem with the ceilings they should be full basalt all the way up to bedrock but it only goes up 3 blocks at the very most, the generation for this biome is so messed up it should have never made it to full release like this

MCPE-100665, so I will resolve and link this ticket as a duplicate.That ticket has already been resolved as Won't Fix, which means this is considered a bug but won't be fixed. The description of that ticket or the comments might explain the rationale. Please do not leave a comment on the linked ticket.
