The guardian beam looks graphically GLITCHED while the guardian has the glowing effect.
When a guardian shoots a beam, it looks like an ugly staff of darkness (that REALLY needs a bleach to look clean again, just kidding) and you can see it from just about anywhere, to reproduce, simply summon or effect a guardian then provoke the guardian, and you will see a SUPER ugly beam shooting at you.
