Cannot reproduce. Please provide a small video with the debug screen enabled (hit the F3 key) demonstrating the issue.
now i'm at work so i create the video tonight. by the way, i use java version on Ubuntu and i've trying to spawn the endermite in the end, not in overworld.
Can't reproduce this in the end. Just tested this and spawned this little guy after throwing a couple of stacks of pearls.
i've tried with new world and everything it's ok, so i think is a problem related a corrupted save or somewhat similar.
