Unlike old behavior leaf blocks are de-spawning when not attached to a log. I was unable to locate any reference confirming this was an intended change in behavior.

i can confirm? this happens in my world too. when i place them, the "persistent" tag reads true, then when i log out, come back on, and check, the "persistent" tag reads false. i have checked this at least 10 times.
