I don't see a bug here. The semicolon is there to separate the two independent clauses. ("You may not rest now." and "The bed is too far away." can both be used as full sentence independently so a semicolon makes sense for a sentence with two independent clauses combined to explain why you cannot sleep in the bed.)
Where is the supposed typo?
