MC-21708Random Game Crash

So the problem I am having is a reoccurring game crash that occurs at random times. This problem has only occurred for me when I play multiplayer on Minecraft, but not yet for when I play single player. I don't know if this is purely a bug because of 1.6.1 but hopefully it will be fixed in the future.
Environment
OS: Mac OS X (ver 10.6.8, arch x86_64)
Java: 1.6.0_45 (by Apple Inc.)
Launcher: 1.0.8 (bootstrap 4)
Minecraft: 1.6.1 (updated Tue Jul 02 10:27:58 PDT 2013)
