Trees appear smushed in the distance
From a distance, trees look smushed together and just like a solid block of green. Compared with 1.6.4 and this was not happening there.
Firat screenshot is from the current 1.7.2 version with a clump of smushed trees in the distance, second screenshot is from 1.6.4 with non-smushed trees in the distance.
Also noticed while taking the screenshots that the 1.6.4 version has the "fog" in the distance while 1.7.2 does not. All my visual settings are the same, but please let me know if I missed something.
I looked and did not see this issue reported already, my apologies if it is a duplicate.

Turn your render distance down if you want to see the fog!
Switch off Mipmapping or switch Mipmapping to Level 4 and Anisotropic filter to 16
Turning Mipmapping off fixed it, thanks very much.
