This works in survival and creative. put a line of blocks 2 above the floor, run underneath them and spam the space bar to go a lot faster

Works even better with ice and trapdoors on top of the ice, infinite speed almost, can cross a good several hundred blocks in a few seconds.
I wouldn't really call this a bug. Its more just the physics of the game were sprint jumping makes you run faster and bumping your head on a 2 block high roof makes you reset the run so that means you remove the delay from jumping.
Not only need you to spam space bar, but your hunger bar is depleted very quickly.
