MC-7862Ladder climbing is weird in creative mode.
I'll be pushing up against the ladder, and it doesn't carry me up. It also won't stop my fall when I fall in it. When I jump at the bottom or when I fall it plays the sound like it works, but it doesn't. Sometimes it WILL let me climb up, but most of the time it doesn't work. I'm COMPLETELY sure I'm NOT flying when it happens, so why does it act strangely?

That's how it woks in "Fly-mode" (double space). Double space again and you climb a ladder like in survival.

OK, it seems to be VERY finicky about when it chooses to work, and of course it works when I'm attempting to take a screenshot of it.

In this one, I am pushing against the ladder and it is NOT taking me up. And yes, this is a WIP adventure map of mine.
This one is me prior to falling through the ladder.
Though you can't tell my downwards momentum, this one IS me falling through the ladder.

This ticket is invalid as it relates to a modded or 3rd party client/server.
None of the mods I have would effect ladders AT ALL. I have optifine and reis minimap, not anything else
It is posible they can affect ladder's! It's possible!
they do NOTHING to effect ANYTHING even RELATED to ladders (save for textures...)
What mods are you using? You probably know nothing about modding, but sometimes people make a mod and call it "Cool ore mod" And they also make a couple tweaks around the game for fun or because they must to get something to work. Trust me, I had to change the file for chestplates to get my ore to smelt in a furnace when I made a mod for the beta releases
YOU assume too much. Optifine and Rei's are very widely used mods and something like THAT would have been detected by now. I do know a bit about modding unlike you assumed.
How am I to fix this?

really? optifine didn't cause this, and rei's wouldn't either.
Test it my friend, what you will see will be amazing...
This bug report will be considered if you can get the same behavior in vanilla Minecraft. Otherwise, it isn't Minecraft's fault.
