Works fine for me. Are you on a server, maybe inside spawn protection? Does this happen on all worlds? If it only happens on one world, please attach it. Please also force a crash report by holding F3+C for 10 seconds and attach it here.
Another potential cause:
MC-2912Ticket resolved as incomplete, because no answer in a reasonable amount of time (1+ year), if it still happens, please update the ticket.
