I have exactly the same situation, I'm dying after level during the summary and artifact opening no matter which level I'm playing on, also when I'm trying to launch the creepy crypt level, after loading screen I'm dead and respawned on the other side of magic barrier/gate - I cannot even go inside of a crypt.
