To get access to beeing stuck you need to have the Wandering Trader first. You need to get inside his "place" climb the hay bales. And get ovver the brick wall which then grant you access to the bush zone behind it. You can only leave by dying.

Is this still an issue in the latest version? If yes, then what is the repro rate (how many times did it happen over the course of how many playthroughs)?

Can no longer reproduce in 1.8.6.0. You can no longer enter the merchant's stall and the haybales have been removed. See attachment
