Well I mean, if you put your back against the wall and get hit of course it'll appear on the other side. Try to use a long range weapon to get it back, such as a glaive or a spear.
Fixed in version 1.10.1.0
The key golem does a thing where it picks up and immediately is taken back to its place where it was when you hit it.
