Do you have any minecraft-related third party software installed, or have you had such software installed previously?
There's a file called hosts, you can find it under this location:
C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc
Could you please attach that to this issue?
I used to have forge and mods installed but now I use the technic launcher and my normal launcher doesn't have forge or mods anymore. For the time being I'm using technic launcher to play vanilla, since that one works, but I'm pretty sure that shouldn't have affected the normal launcher's files.

I also have this problem, I've tried reinstalling everything but that didn't help, and I left it the Mojang loading screen open for the whole night but it still wouldn't move from the same 80% loaded bit.
