Dungeons won't initiate after pressing play
The actual launcher version is 2.1.13315. I was able to log in and download the beta. Also the key is working since I was able to play it on another device. Once I try to press play simply nothing happens. I see that the program is doing something in the background but the game fails to initiate.
Environment
Windows 7 Ultimate SP1. Java version 1.8.0_241.

Similar to MCL-13487.
I'm trying to get MCD to boot on my Windows machine and it seems to spin up the process but then no window appears even after leaving it for a time (procedure below).
I've also noticed that opening and closing the launcher and trying to open MCD via its exe file leads to multiple Minecraft Dungeon/Launcher processes continuing running for no reason.
Procedure:
- Download the launcher
- Let it update, it appears to update to 2.1.14931
- Install Minecraft Dungeons to a non-default location
- After download completion click Play
- Wait for MCD to boot

Hi, thanks for the report.
There seems to be no obvious causes for that in the Launcher, based on the log file you posted.
Can you please try running Dungeons directly from its executable file?
Please let us know what happens when you try that.
I've tried that before. Just tried it again. It doesn't do anything but I see the program running in the task manager
Ok, thank you.
You're not supposed to have multiple Dungeons processes running though. That is a bit suspicious.
At this point I'd suggest making sure your Windows 7 is up-to-date, as well as your graphics drivers. Also try using the Launcher repair functionality by clicking the "repair" button, in the Settings screen.
Edit:
Just in case, please check if the native Windows Media Player is installed:
Eric, we can't help you with that here. Please contact Mojang support in https://help.minecraft.net/hc/de/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360000491032.
I do have Media player installed. All my drivers are up to date except windows itself. For some reason I am unable to download updates, however this didn't effect any other games I have and I doubt it's the cause. I tried going into the files and changeing the Movies to default play with media player too and that didn't do anything.
Hey, thanks for the confirmation.
We have checked with the Dungeons team and unfortunately no one seems to have an idea of what it could be, without more information.
It would be nice to figure out why you are unable to install updates though, to get that variable out of the equation.
Another thing I'd suggest, if you want to try, is installing the Epic Launcher (https://www.epicgames.com/unrealtournament/download). It might install some Unreal engine dependency that Dungeons is missing and didn't install automatically for some reason.
Well I won't be able to help with this issue anymore I recommend closing this case as I just got a new SSD installed windows 10 and now everything works fine. The issue I have now is that when I connect to my account and try to play I can't see my hero that I have on my laptop. Thanks for the support and sorry for the trouble.
No problem, good thing you are now able to play.
Dungeons save files are currently only saved on disk, nothing is automatically transferred across installations for now.
