MCL-19244Launcher randomly quits
I really don't know what else there is to say. It doesn't appear to segfault, or otherwise obviously crash (no mention of segmentation fault in dmesg). The process just quits, and doesn't save any changes if I'm editing a profile (also quits in other situations, but this is the worst one)

Update: I found out that it's a subprocess that crashes, so I attached strace to that process - it seems to be killed by SIGALRM. Attached the output.
Normally I would revert to an older version but I literally can't anymore due to forced auto-update.

duplicates
I'm having this issue as well I think. It just crashes before it can even load the game. although I have been able to play once yesterday after reinstalling the launcher, but today it's broken again...
I'm wondering, does my workaround from here work for you?
Yes that seems to get around the issue, but it's also a very inconvenient workaround, especially since the "try again" option usually requires 10+ attempts for it to actually work. This is probably a duplicate of that linked issue then. I didn't fine it during my search for similar issues, it was probably written while I was doing more testing and writing my report.
