MCL-24773Unable to Update the Launcher
Launcher will not update or open. When launcher is clicked, it begins to update and then pops up with "Unable to update the launcher". Tried redownloading the launcher many times as well as updating and restarting my macbook, nothing works. I did not know what to put for "Affects Version/s" because I cannot open minecraft to see but I imagine it the latest version.

Hi!
Does this issue occur on the latest version of the Launcher?
Please also check 'launcher_settings.json' in your minecraft folder and change channel from 'release' to 'BETA'
Please also uninstall the Launcher, delete .minecraft folder (copy its content elsewhere before deletion) and then reinstall, restart your computer. Then please try to boot the Launcher.

omg changing release to beta in the 'launcher_settings.json' is the only thing that has worked!! thank you so so so much. i am not techy at all so i had no idea what was going on but it worked!!!
