Launcher results in "game crash"
Was playing minecraft yesterday. Today when I opened it, it started with "game crash" I got the same result when I changed all the settings in launcher back to default.
De-installed all MC files, re installed from fresh download, upgraded Java and still it fails.

"can you please use the bundled JRE 1.8.0_51, not an own one 1.8.0_171"
can you explain what you mean? what is, and where is JRE 1.8.0_51?
In the environment field you wrote
but the Minecraft Launcher comes bundled with Java version 8 build 51.
Please use the latter and not version 171.
Same happening to me now, constantly. I am completely unable to play.
how do I revert back to an earlier version of Java?
I have updated launcher log.
I deleted Java from my computer.
I reinstalled Minecraft, however, no JRE was installed.
Launcher still crashes.
Still

is there a non java version I can download?
Yes, with your MC Java account there comes also the Windows 10 Edition. Go to https://mojang.com , log into your account , there you'll find the code for the win 10 edition.
Make sure there is enough RAM free for Minecraft to run.
