Please force a crash by pressing F3 + C for 10 seconds using 1.5.2 while ingame and attach the crash report here.
Sorry, I forgot to add that it never "gets off the ground" - this is immediately following pressing the launch button on the new launcher.
Please attach your launcher_profiles.json.
There doesn't seem to be any json files other than the one attached - I wonder if that's part of the problem...
No, in the .minecraft folder, there should be a file called launcher_profiles.json.
