In the 1.16.210.58 Beta, the player_firstperson.animations.json was updated with a new variable: "animation.player.first_person.attack_rotation_item". However, upon changing some values under "rotation", it only changes the attack animations for items that change state, such as the bow, crossbow, trident, and shield. It does not change the attack animations for other items like swords, food, snowballs, and blocks.

I don't think it's a bug because current Minecraft can't edit animations for all items except bows, shields, crossbows, and tridents.
can change it by using the "attachable" folder.
Is this still an issue in the latest version (1.17.11)? If so, can you please add it to the affected versions (or mention it if you are not the reporter).

I can reproduce in 1.18.31. Attachables and empty hands use a data driven animation, but all other items and blocks use a hardcoded (and better looking!) animation.
