I am afraid this report is not valid. There is no information provided that would allow us to reproduce. Please do not report the same issue multiple times.
so for example, placing stairs by solid blocks, the stair will be darkened. this happens even when the stair is put against a block. but placing the stair in open space or by other 'transparent' blocks will not give this effect.
Please include a screenshot.
I do believe this is a duplicate of my bug report
