- Take sniffer spawn egg or using /summon command
- Make fence setup
- Spawn sniffer to setup
- Waiting for starts digging and then use the following command with command block
/effect @e[type=sniffer] levitation <any time> 3

The sniffer can be still digging in floating

If a levitate/floating to sniffer should do not continue digging
