Everytime I open up Minecraft on my switch, I'll have to watch something to kill time while my game takes 5 minutes or more to load, this has been happening to me for years, please fix it.

what is the size of your save data?
deleting all save data solved the issue imc
From what I can tell this is caused by a lot of data, but I don't have a large amount of save data on Minecraft
technically this one is for switch so it isn't a dupe.
Have you managed to resolve the issue? I have the same situation where I launch Minecraft and it takes ~2 to 3 mins to load. It freezes at black screen at first, then it freeze when loading, then it proceeds to load the resources and freezes again and eventually everything loads properly but it takes too long. After that there are some lags but nothing unusual for Nintendo Switch.
Some notes here:
Which version do you have, the hard copy (card) or digital edition?
Also, the first time the issue appeared it couldn't load resources and crashed and I suspect it may be due to a resource file that I have downloaded but have not activated (I've seen a comment in another Jira ticket)
If this is still an issue, could you confirm whether the comment Torkvikb0t made also describes what you're experiencing? Make sure to answer their questions, as they will provide useful.
