What exactly is the spider bug?
Please provide more information. It's hard to understand the issue without enough info.
Spiders wont attack you in brightly lit areas. Did you try this in a darker area? This could be WAI if its only in bright areas.
They don't attack, because there is light. When theres no light, it will attack you

However, this issue is Working as Intended.
A spider will not attack a player unless the light level at its position is 11 or less, or the player attacks the spider first. This works the same as Java.
