Realms chunk loading is slow and awkward recently
Traveling in the overworld will cause some apparently random chunks to take approximately 15 seconds or more to load.
Sometimes only vertical layers of the chunk are affected, for example the first log of a tree and the ground around will load but not the rest.
I have Xfinity's 50Mbps internet so it should be sufficient, plus this hasn't been an issue prior to 1.9
