When I try to open Minecraft It Says "Unable to start Minecraft, if you are running from a dmg, Please Drag to Applications and try again." I Don't know what it's talking about! Now Minecraft is Unplayable!
Update: This is a launcher issue. I Didn't Know the launcher tracker existed.

Had the same issue. I ran above script in Terminal and changed use to Read/Write permission. It worked BUT on the next update it reverted back to Read Only and had to re-do the steps.
So Bug is still there, this scrappy solve seems to work temporarily, until next update.

Why has this been reopened?
Had the same issue. I ran above script in Terminal and changed use to Read/Write permission. It worked BUT on the next update it reverted back to Read Only and had to re-do the steps.
