Is this happening on a Realm, server, or local world?It is a local world.
Yes every time, even if they just log out briefly, the paintings fall when they rejoin.
Uncertain, but usually not far, within 100 blocks I'd guess.
I can do a distance test if you think it would be helpful.

I have added screenshots as requested.
I also have a short film on my phone where I can see the painting break off and fall to the ground when the second player joins, but it was too large to upload here.
Additional information I found:
I disabled my texturepack just to be sure, it changed nothing, paintings still fall.
Paintings only fall when the second player logs in near them, when they log in far away the paintings stay up.
Logging out does not affect the paintings.
Entering or exiting the nether seems to not affect the paintings, but may then be due to distance between paintings and portal?
Only some of my paintings seem to be affected, it seems localized to a certain chunk of my house as far as I can tell, nowhere else in the world have we seen this behaviour. Also not every painting will fall every time, it seems a bit random in that area,
But always one or more painting fall there.
EDIT: Paintings fall even when I the first player is 500+ blocks away.
Wich seems to narrow it down to an issue with the second player and that specific chunk?

I did try to search for both wool and sheep pre-post, but did not find the any of the other posts...
There we go I guess, I made a bare bones one because I doubt you need my entire 14MB resourcepack.
I cannot say for sure the issue will replicate, because my realm is offline due to some server issues or whatnot.
