This has happened to me twice in 5 days. I have a backup file but it’s at least 30 hours before the save became unplayable again. This needs to be fixed ASAP. Now I’m scared to play Minecraft because of losing several hours of progress.
I hope the worlds aren’t lost forever. I have a backup from 2 nights ago. But I can’t keep wasting time. This is the second time in 5 days that I have suffered from this bug. And I only started playing the Village and Pillage update 5 days ago after months of not playing.
Yeah I bought Realms and Minecraft on my computer to see if it would work on there. But I had the same issue on PC and iPhone. The game crashes. Even when I try to connect to Realms it gives me an error. It doesn’t crash but it says something about being disconnected or cannot connect to Realm.
I’ve noticed that this occurs when auto saving. I’m not an expert. But right before my world became unplayable it was while I was in a village. The game was auto saving while it crashed. Now whenever I try starting the world it crashes. I’m locked out until there’s a patch. I hope I’m able to see my world again. I was working on a major project at the time too.
I hope this gets patched soon because I finally have free time to play Minecraft without worrying about college classes and now I can’t even play the game without thinking about losing several hours of progress. I’ve spent over 900 hours in this world and have backups but I can’t afford wasting my time creating with the thought that it can be lost any second. I was in the middle of finishing a castle before I got locked out of the save. Now I only have the foundation of the castle.
Is this bug occurring for non Switch owners?
My world size is over 200MB too. I have a backup of my save. But I can’t continue to keep playing the game with the fact that it can be unplayable at any time. Also I’m not using cloud saves on Switch so every backup is being stored on the Switch and SD card. And my storage is starting to run out. I also have saves on my PC and IPhone But I can’t bare to delete the saves that don’t work on the Switch. I suffer from this error twice within 5 days.
So are we going to get an update that will fix the saves that don’t work or are those lost forever
OK, so we know that Mojang is fixing some of these crashes that cause the world to be unplayable. But what about the unplayable worlds? Are we going to get an update that recovers worlds that are unplayable?
I just got my world working on my IPhone. So if you have realms check to see if it works on another device.
After getting the world to work on iPhone via Realms I’ve downloaded the world on my Switch and now it works. I would try this until Mojang releases an update that fixes the crashes while saving. Also create a backup in case.
I was using 1.11.3 on my iPhone 8 which is version 12.1.4.
I just happened to open it through Realms. I have no clue how it loaded the world. But it did. I’ve tried this a few days ago and it gave me a disconnected error on both 1.11.1 and 1.11.3. But for some reason I tested it again and the World loaded. The original save didn’t open but the Realms loaded. Then I downloaded the Realm on my Switch and it loaded. I didn’t do anything special so I don’t know if my case was just a rare chance. I really wish I could help more but that’s all I did.
Like others I’ve tried this before. But it didn’t work then. I’m glad the world isn’t lost and this should mean that other people will eventually be able play.
Why is this resolved? I have a similar issue on 1.11.4 Bedrock for Nintendo Switch. I’ve seen villagers not being able to reach workstations and beds even when they are on the other side of the door between them. It’s almost as if they don’t know how to use the door half of the time unless it’s open. Villagers end up staying outside at night or run directly into zombies. It’s very annoying because I often see villagers hanging around the overhang of the roof or walking back and forth outside to get to the bed from outside instead of using the door.
It’s an issue in bedrock Edition too. Villager path finding is awful. Forget about building two story buildings because Villagers can barely find themselves in a house. They also don’t respond to the bell sometimes. I don’t know if I should create a separate report because there are several issues. I sometimes wish that they never change the formula from doors to beds.
I have this same issue on Bedrock for Switch. But I also noticed that Villagers will do the same. I’ve seen villagers wandering off into the Wild to only be seen later wandering to nowhere. Cats do the same. But I don’t know if it’s normal. All have naturally spawn.
I'm playing on Nintendo Switch Ver. 1.11.4 and I noticed that this issue is worst.
I also had this issue. They don’t spawn properly I had this issue finding pillagers 20 blocks underground.
Here’s the link to a demonstration. https://twitter.com/buster5ive/status/1226350392021176321?s=21
Why am I not getting any feedback. This bug isn’t exclusive to the Switch either. I’ve experienced it on my iPhone as well. This bug breaks a lot of red stone builds that require pistons and slime blocks because the player does not move where they should.
I posted this issue 6 days ago and no mod has responded. The issue breaks any red stone builds that require a slime block and piston. When being pushed up the player doesn’t bounce directly up and if obsidian is on all four sides of the player then the player doesn’t launch at all.
Thank you for clearing that up for me. I’m glad that the issue is being handled with.
I had this same issue. I have a beehive stuck in my enderchest.
I don’t know how the issue is resolved. Villager path finding is horrible. They can’t get to their beds, workstations, and hang around outside trying to get to where they need to go on the wrong side of the building.
Sorry please discard my Last comment. It was suppose to be posted on the bedrock forum.
This issue has been around since the Villager and Pillager update. Villagers try path finding through the wall. Even when enemies such as Zombies and Pillagers are after them. I seen a Villager sacrifice themself because they thought being close to the wall where their bed is on the other side was safe.
Mojang is going to have to fix this issue because my beehive is stuck in my Ender Chest. There’s nothing that I can do to get the beehive out. I hope an update fixes this soon.
I keep getting this message on my Switch on 1.17. It’s not fixed. In fact what is the Storage limit for worlds and texture packs for Switch because I can’t find any answers. I’m currently using about 800mb for all my worlds. I had this same issue back in 2019. I delete worlds and still get the same error message even when my save file takes up the same space.
