Starting yesterday, mobs seem to be not effected by sunlight. I have tested this with both skeletons and zombies (also drowned). Both mobs I have spawned with “summon” and the creative mode spawn eggs. I haven’t tested other mobs, but I imagine it applies to all hostile mobs. In addition, I am not sure if this also effects NATURALLY spawned mobs - I haven’t tested it.
Also, I have already attempted to change the weather and time several times, to no avail. All players have left the realm and upon rejoining later on, the issue still occurs. This is the first time I have seen this issue happen. I am guessing this is only a realm bug, but please comment if you find it is a local bug too. Attached are photos. (Photos are on MCPE but I’ve tested on Xbox too - can’t imagine platform matters in this case. Any way to fix this? Lastly, there is nothing above the mobs. I have tested in blank environments, despite transparent barrier blocks being above the mobs.Edit: APPLIES TO PHANTOMS

I have not had this issue for a while now. Also I am unsure as to if it happened on other worlds due to not being the realm owner. I believe this issue is fixed now (currently)
Can confirm that this is a massive issue. A community realm has JUST started today, with a fresh world - day 1, and in less than 12 hours, the lag is unbearable - even solo as the only user online. Not sure what causes this. I mean, player count certainly is an influencer - but is it total player count, or player count online? I’d say the former. But regardless, a paid server shouldn’t be this atrocious. An update on the stability improvements that are supposedly coming to realms should be posted ASAP please.
As a temporary solution, emphasis on temporary, I find that the following command will GREATLY reduce lag - at least on the community realm:
“/kill @e[type=item]” - this will kill all dropped items on the realm. It seems that realms for whatever reason do not eliminate the items from memory even when the chunk is no longer loaded.
Hope this helps you guys.
You can be lazy and put it on a repeating command block with a huge ticking delay if that’s what you want too, but I think it’s better to just do it manually.
This is of course assuming that your realm has cheats on, if it does not, I’m afraid this is not possible.
But I can confirm that item drops are a massive memory hauler.
