A very short pulse into a block from a repeater with a redstone torch on top of the block doesnt turn off the torch.

When placing/breaking blocks there is a short, but annoying lag spike
Notice the FPS in the screenshots belowSystem Specs:
A10 580k
8GB DDR3 RAM
HD 7950 (OC'd to 1 GHz)Obviously my system should be able to handle minecraft at max settings easily.
To mods: Took 15 minutes looking through "lag" and "fps" search results for issues within 3 weeks ago
Chunks are not loading at all with a new, creative, amplified world, structures turned off.

I restarted PC, and waited 7 minutes. It took 7 minutes for the first chunk to load... What is going on here?

My friend had the same problem as you. (Not sure about the error log)
But he had his version set to "Use latest version" which didnt let him connect to any of my snapshot servers (duh) but he said it only said it was pinging the server and he could never connect. Maybe check that the versions are correct? And tell us what versions of java you are using and OS and such..
If windows
Win Key + R
Type cmd
Press Enter
In the black command prompt box type:
java -version
Copy and paste the few lines it outputs into your post. (Right Click in black box > Mark > Start bottom right of text and go to top left of it > Press enter .. Its copied to the clipboard)
Just a suggestion. I have almost 0 knowledge when it comes to bug fixing, and this is my first time commenting on a bug report
It goes up to 16 for me.
Also, I was in full screen when I checked.
I guess my post was a dupe. Even though its a different version.
Complete workaround for n00bs on windows:
Make a batch file
Put this line of text in it
java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar minecraft_server.jar nogui
Rename the snapshot jar you downloaded to minecraft_server.jar (Make sure it doesnt look like minecraft_server.jar.jar)
Save the batch file and run the batch file you made.
Actually, everyone should use this as a standard method IMO.
If you are having trouble making a batch just download it here: src.13chag.net/Start_Server.bat
**Make sure you Right click > Edit to ensure you are not downloading a harmful batch file**
Update:
Added crash files

Hacked?
If you're using Windows 8.. Upgrade to Windows 7.
^Actually is the fix. It looks like the reports of instantly crashing are only from windows 8
Co Ords or map dl?
src.13chag.net/mcsh1023.png I see nothing wrong
Could you provide a world download?
And put it in a zip..
Use my method if you want console output. I dont see the reason why you would need a lag meter unless you are stress testing/ have more than 20 players on your sever.
We know this doesnt work. Just sit back and let people take care of it instead of complaining as it has been like this for the past few versions.
And like I learned from the mods, USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION
Are you using vanilla minecraft server? Or bukkit?
Edit: Added crash file
Hmm. Have you tried with half slabs?
It seems the lighting effects it. Look at the light level, and break half slabs in the block with that light level
Its hard to tell what exactly its doing.. I guess a very short pulse into a block from a repeater with a redstone torch on top of the block doesnt turn off the torch.
Does that make sense?
@Bill No. I'm on windows and same error
This isnt a fix, This is how to set it up:
Log in to Twitch account
Log in to Mojang account in new tab
In mojang account go to " View account settings "
And link twitch account with mojang account
After that is complete, Completely close minecraft and the launcher
Restart launcher and Play minecraft
The settings should work.
This is what happens when you jump the gun and dont read Mojangs' changelog and post
https://mojang.com/
Does your computer meet the minimum specs for Minecraft?
Thats it? Did you try to tweak anything before and after?
Are you not able to do a simple Google search?
"Minecraft lava over still water" gives me this search result:
https://www.google.com/search?q=Minecraft+lava+over+still+water
And the first Wiki link is this:
http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Lava
And within that wiki there is a section called "Lava and water"
The contents of that section say (and I quote)
"
If lava flows on top of still or running water, it creates stone.
If lava flows horizontally into water, cobblestone is created. Using this you can create cobblestone farms.
If water flows horizontally into lava, a hiss and puff of smoke occur but nothing changes.
If water flows vertically into lava, cobblestone or a hiss may result.
If water flows into a lava source block then obsidian is created. The lava spring is destroyed in the process, so unlike cobblestone it is not continuous and renewable.
If vertically falling water touches a lava source block on any side obsidian is created - even if the water would not run into the lava's square.
"
So please, save some time on the moderators by doing a quick Google search. Bug reports marked as duplicates I can understand sometimes, because there could be the same bug in different environments and you yourself may take that as a completely different bug, but just please do a quick Google search for something this basic.
As Arusu said, changing the view distance causes this. I recorded it, with wobble shaders to make it worse. This is always fun to watch, while confusing your brain a little: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hygpaf8mqc0
@Sonic , That was an older version and says "resolved"
@Isaac F3 + H
Put launcher(.exe) in %appdata%/.minecraft and create a shortcut to it on your desktop.
Could you at least give us a seed and confirm that youve checked sound settings and the amount of light on the spawner?
