Try quiting the app. To do this following:
1. Double tap home button to bring up the task bar.
2. Hold one of the apps until they start shaking with do not enter signs in the top left coner. (See the attachment for a picture.)
3. Click the red do not enter signs to quit the app.
4. Trying seleting peaceful mode now.
Hope this helped.
Tip: Doing this often will greatly improve battery life.

I didn't have that problem. I am running v0.4.0 on iOS 6 on my new 32GB iPhone 5.
This was just fixed recently in the real PC Minecraft version. Don't expect fix for a while.

You don't think this is cool? The isn't even fixed the the PC version. I don't think it will every be.
Are you sure he is not coming from some where else?
