This is a know bug. Something's up with the coding of the game. This should be fixed soon.
It is a white screen as of the servers being overloaded from millions of people trying to login or sign up. It might take 30 seconds to load a page or it might not load at all.
This bug should not be worried about as of you must use a game editor (Not Legit).
This will be fixed in 0.7.1 as mentioned in Johan's Twitter.
Intelligence is required to report bugs.
This happens on the iPod 4G. I think this is meant to happen according to the block update. Mojang could put a fix out for this.
EDIT: If there is no canal and only 1 block under the trapdoor. You can put water in the hole and it will close directly after. Works with lava too.
Please update to 0.7.1 and see if this still happens.
