I hear crackle sounds when a chicken walks.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. get chicken
2. make it walk
3. enjoyminecraft/resources/sound3/mob/chicken
If a chicken walks anywhere near the player, a disturbing crackle or clicking sound is played. It took me some time to notice that the chicken was causing it, beacause it sounds more like an audio error than an intended ingame sound. It reminds me of digital clipping noice and it is rather annoying.

A walking chicken obviously sounds like a microphone getting beaten with a stick
I tried to clarify the bug report. And please listen to the sounds.
I can't understand how this can, without any question, be considered "working as intended". And you should be very sure if you mark this resolved, because you actually might prevent an issue from getting fixed. The bat noise issue got similar replies and was nevertheless worked on by Mojang. (https://mojang.atlassian.net/browse/MC-973)
And this is not something which was in the game since the beginning but it's a newly occurring issue. What I also do not understand is, how this topic, after getting replies acknowledging the issue, just gets closed after a few days without any further questions.A "bug" is not only broken code, I would consider a wrong or broken sound-file to be a bug also.
What's really an "annoyance" is the fact that I have to argue for this issue to stay open, to have a chance to get looked at by the developers. Do you think I'm trying to troll?
chicken of course
THIS IS NOT RESOLVED!
Why was it marked with "working as intended" and got closed?
1. It doesn't sound like anything remotely resembling a chicken walk.
2. It is distracting and annoying.
3. It does NOT sound like claws on concrete. (let alone walking on grass or dirt)Allow me an honest question, on what basis was decided that it is working as intended?
As I see it, two people (including a moderator) have confirmed that it is at least "odd" or "disturbing", but yet, because of personal opinion, it got closed. Moderators should stick with "moderating" not "deciding" if something is intended or not.I strongly urge to reopen this issue.
I have come to realize that this was never an issue.

This is not caused by a Mod. It is a bug in Vanilla Minecraft and should be fixed there. You could argue it is irrelevant since you have no use for bigger texturepacks in Vanilla Minecraft and consider this issue resolved.
OR acknowledge that this is a shortcomming of Vanilla Minecraft and keep this open to at least get a chance that somebody at Mojang has a look at it.
In my opinion it will have to be fixed anyway if the API becomes a reality, so why not now?
The Issue occurs with a clean vanilla server and YES it is a HD Texture Pack. Just try Sphax PureBDcraft 128x128. If you conclude that this fact invalidates the bug report than you are drawing the wrong conclusion. It is one thing to not support HD texture packs, but this BUG is actively blocking the use of them.
Just try to see it this way: Is this intended behaviour? IF no then BUG
