I don't think so, I don't seem to have a problem with mob or animals, and while I did have some lag last night, nothing appreciable this morning. So far just with blocks of wood and stone.
Looks like the issue has been resolved. Thank you! Trees (wood) and stone both appear to be able to be gathered as normal.
