Recently a functioning dropper elevator stopped working and I tracked it down to two issues:
1) - A dropper will not function when placed at 1821, 5, 3244. Droppers placed in spaces adjacent to this, powered by the same circuit, function correctly.
2) - A redstone torch placed on top of a block at location 1821, 6, 3245 will not invert the signal in that block. The torch simply stays on. If redstone dust is placed on this block, it will illuminate properly to reflect the state of the block.
I have tried removing all adjacent blocks and replacing them with other materials.
I am unaware of any changes made to the world between the time when the elevator was working and when these blocks stopped functioning correctly.
I can provide access to the server upon request.

The server is crashing often - on the order of minutes. It also is taking a very long time to execute some operations like eating, smelting, and brewing.
This is happening in a chunk that has a great deal of redstone and a great many villagers and animals. The server seems stable away from this chunk.
This world was stable with very little lag in 1.14.4. I have uploaded the world in its current state as well as its last state in 1.14.4. Link provided below. I have also uploaded a screenshot of the server system specs to the same location.
I am currently running the client from the same machine as the server.
Additional notes that may be useful:
- Animals and villagers move in short steps with pauses instead of smoothly.
- Golems in lava take a very long time to die, with each sound occurring with a long pause in between.
- I reached an impasse trying to brew a potion. The server crashes before the slow operation can complete. Then, when the server restores, the blaze rod is used but the potion brewing starts over.
- CPU utilization seems fine. Uploaded screenshot.

I constructed a mob farm in a swamp with the intention of collecting slime balls in addition to other mob drops. The spawning platform was constructed at y = 69. The AFK point is such that all mob spawning is constrained to the spawning platform, and the platform is covered in wither roses, so mobs are constantly dying and spawning at an extremely rapid rate.
The spawning chamber is entirely within a swamp biome. This behavior has been observed at all phases of the moon. The spawning chamber has airspace of 2.5 blocks above the spawning platform.
I am using an item filter to capture any slime balls that emerge from the collection system, and no slime balls have been produced. Many thousands of other item drops have been collected.
I have logged in with a secondary account set to spectator and observed and recorded video inside the spawning chamber. No slimes ever spawn.
I tried removing the wither roses and replacing the netherrack with dirt, and slimes still did not spawn.
I tried removing the spawning platform and removing the rails from the collection layer underneath, at y = 67. After doing this, I observed slimes spawning on this layer.
It appears that slimes spawn on blocks at y = 67, but not on blocks at y = 69. All documentation I have read states that slimes in swamps spawn from y = 50 to y = 70. It seems as if current spawning behavior does not follow the documentation.
Center of spawning platform is at:
2187, 69, 3703
AFK position is:
2187, 195, 3703
World copy will be linked shortly.

Fix worked. I used NBTExplorer and looked at the region with chunk 113, 202. There were many entries for TileTicks. I deleted these, restarted the server, broke and re-added the problematic blocks, and both dropper and torch functioned correctly. Thanks for your help.
The zip files I already provided contain the entire directory containing the world. This includes many, many crash log files.
Done.
Hi,
It seems that one detail is being overlooked - that these problems are not happening with 1.14.4. In the older version, the server never crashes, running for weeks at a time, where as with 1.15.1 a crash occurs regularly after a few minutes. Also, the vastly expanded time durations for smelting, brewing, sleeping, etc. do not occur in 1.14.4. Perhaps there is an unforeseen consequence to some change that was made in the newer version? Whatever the case, the situation is that the same world is fully functional in 1.14.4 and not playable in 1.15.1.
Fair enough that the lag is the underlying condition for the crash. I disagree, though, that this should be labeled a performance issue. There is a very large, and almost certainly unintentional difference between 1.14.4 and 1.15.1 that is causing a world to be unusable. A change this significant between the two versions is not a difference in performance but is in fact a software defect.
Another point is that it seems unlikely that the lag is due to insufficient hardware resources. As shown by the performance graphs I included, the CPU utilization is not high, and there is plenty of available memory. It seems doubtful that upgrading the server machine would impact the issue significantly.
Another possible point of interest. I removed all excess villagers and golems from that chunk and saved the world to the google drive folder linked above. There should be 59 villagers left, give or take a couple. I am curious as to your method for counting villagers for your earlier post.
I am certain I didn't get rid of anywhere near 300 villagers.*Could you maybe count those in this world and see if it is registering very many more than 59?*I stand corrected. See screenshot.
Has this been looked at, yet?
If you look at the video, you'll see that I demonstrate that the only variable that makes a difference is the vertical position. The slimes didn't spawn when the roses were not there.
Yes, this came from the wiki. Can you please supply the correct y values at which slimes will spawn?
