This has happened to me every single time I have been in the end, and I have not found a fix. Whenever I hit an enderman the game would just stop playing normally. The chunks stopped rendering and I couldn't interact with ANY blocks. Chests, levers, you name it. I also couldn't kill anymore endermen even though they were right in front of me and I was attempting to hitting them. From what I have observed this affects both creative and survival.
I was able to do this several times, the world just stops playing normally and you can't interact with anything. It happens when endermen take any damage at all, not just from a player.
This has happened to many people on here, and it's because when endermen are hit in the latest snapshot the world tends to freeze. Is this the case in your issue?
