If you push a minecart chest off the tracks and into a hole so that each side of the cart is surrounded. Destroy the track and then destroy the cart and poof! The only items that will appear will be the cart and the chest. All other items will be gone. I first discovered this will a half stack of diamonds. Then I was able to replicate it two times with string and some cobble stone.
