I was experiencing the problem that Tiago had. I read the stack trace and saw the error was happening when the program is trying to take control of the mouse pointer. I was able to solve the problem (until there's a bug fix, hopefully) by doing these things before launching minecraft:
*disable any input devices that you will not be using, such as wireless trackpads etc. the trackpad on the laptop itself is fine.
*if your mouse is plugged into a usb port, unplug it – wait a second – and plug it back in. If you're using a bluetooth mouse, disconnect it and reconnect it however you wanna do that.
*launch minecraft
my setup: 1 yr old macbook & a 26" monitor, usb keyboard, usb mouse, wireless "magic" trackpad (which I must disable before launch, otherwise crash)
