This bug was found on random on a multi player server.
The bug consist out of crash client side (not server side)
When entering certain Chunk that are lined up in a bend like shape.
it causes huge FPS drops for all that are inside of those chunks.
Tp'ing them out restores there FPS.after digging we found out it was caused by a single block.
this block was being moved from west to east.
the height of the block seems to unrelated.we tested it to see if it also did this in singleplayer with different version and different seeds.
we tested it from 1.7.2 to the lastest snapshotthe newest snapshot only seems to move the "crashing Chunks"
to replicate this bug: I have included a world download. but also a video
and the forced crash log, but here the text version:Goto. -128 54 112
place a block there. on the west side place a piston so it can retract to the block further west. put this piston a a timer, make sure the chunks are marked as spawn by using /setdefaultworldspawn. It is recommend to play a sound when the piston is moving to everyone you so know when it moves. Then Goto somewhere around -160 y 277 and find the chunks that cause to jitter every time you hear the sound. The Video of me exploring this crash.

Also when we removed the block but kept the redstone clock going, no lag was experienced.a friend of my has 2 graphic cards and was able to "survive" the lag, he could still walk around but every time inside that area His fps drops like anyone else but not enough to freeze and crash him.
I also noticed in my console it keep saying: [Client thread/INFO]: Warning: Clientside chunk ticking took 2600 ms
we tested it to see if it also did this in singleplayer with different version and different seeds.

Im working on a map while during the update from 1.9.2 to 1.9.4 I noticed something,
I have signs that tell what time it is, it shows the Day, Minute and Second
I do this by setting the score of a armorstand onto a none existing player called CLOCK,
then I display with the command below the scores onto the signs, but the scores themselfs don't pop up, just the " : ", will be displayed
execute @e[name=CLOCK,type=ArmorStand] ~ ~ ~ blockdata ~ ~ ~ {Text1:"[\"\"]",Text2:"[\"\",{\"score\":{\"name\":\"CLOCK\",\"objective\":\"D\"}},
{\"text\":\" : \"},{\"score\":{\"name\":\"CLOCK\",\"objective\":\"M\"}},
{\"text\":\" : \"},{\"score\":{\"name\":\"CLOCK\",\"objective\":\"S\"}}]"}

When I use the command '/tickingarea list' not list appears or any kind of message appears.
If I do type it in a commandblock it returns: ''When I use the command '/tickingarea list' not list appears or any kind of message appears.
If I do type it in a commandblock it returns: 'x/10 ticking areas in use'.Shouldnt it give out a list of all the areas and their names?

Video of 1.4.6 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-oYnXpsLMqo&feature=youtu.be button do not pop off,
Also I didnt know how to mark this subject as, so I left it as bug :#
I have posted crash logs that holds my computer information, I like for people not to see that kind of information.
Kay, sorry for the trouble :#
there error type is the same, however if you compare the at xx.x (source xx) things, then they are not equel, so it is taking somewhere else place?
even so its server side this time, does that even count?
that was all, that was what the server put out.
like when you get kicked, that screen with almost that sentence
This is not a duplicate of
MC-2555,The strange thing is I cannot, find anything in the logs, not Output-client.log or the server.log
there is not log of then this:
12.03 12:47:20 [Multicraft] Huntondoom ran command Message of the Day
12.03 12:47:20 [Connect] User Huntondoom, IP xx.xx.xx.xx
and this is the error outputting to my client: http://imgur.com/op6HTOU
and that is all that is causing the error.
Im still Experiencing this bug:
Client> java.io.IOException: Received string length longer than maximum allowed (17 > 16)
Client> at ei.a(SourceFile:244)
Client> at fd.a(SourceFile:71)
Client> at ei.a(SourceFile:201)
Client> at ci.i(SourceFile:250)
Client> at ci.c(SourceFile:16)
Client> at cj.run(SourceFile:94)
I did, but that bug report only has 3 labels that have not much to do with what I searched (also including Title)
I did resource pack custom sound
so it is meant to only play randomly?
Im still Experciening this bug too this day and Ill still dont know what is causing it.
Client> java.io.IOException: Received string length longer than maximum allowed (17 > 16)
Client> at ex.a(SourceFile:240)
Client> at ft.a(SourceFile:71)
Client> at ex.a(SourceFile:197)
Client> at cn.i(SourceFile:249)
Client> at cn.c(SourceFile:17)
Client> at co.run(SourceFile:94)
thats all the report console gave, whoever I found out that deleting scoreboard.dat solves it. so is it the fact that player names being saved with the mojang acounts (so email adress) is causing it?
also here is the screenshot of the Developer Console, it the same as the server one: http://i.imgur.com/p0b2NkC.png
I cannot Reproduce the Crash since I fixed it as I mentioned earlier in the comments. furthermore I dont know what usefull information could be in the console.
so you do know how to fix this?
just want to say that I am still experiencing in the newest snapshot, I added it to the affected list.
I seem to still be getting this problem in the new snapshot (
MC-31916)Yes, around to 300mb then drops to 150 mb and starts to count up again
No, Thats just it If I remove the block there is no lag
and only to that block location
Yes, its did so on our server.
the thing I read from theirs is that they use just a redstone clock?
it does create the same problem though but with two different sources?
anyway We solved it by removing that one block and now everything works again.
the thing that caused are crash is a park our element, on which you have to evade the block coming out of the wall, the problem got to us today. most of that element is still in working (except for that one block) but will see what are people are experiencing.
Thanks for helping anyway
!
I forgot to add stuff
added the stuff I forgot
Confirmed that this still applies for the new snapshot, nothing seems to be changed
I am Experiencing this bug in Snapshot 14w04b
Redstone and just putting down entities (carts, frames) take along time to actually do something, Redstone ticks about 2 seconds per tick instead of 1/10 of a second.
items are not picking up fast enough.
but If I go back to 1.7.2, it is all fine and working again
I dont know if I should make a new issue or if you want to reopen this one.
but I am experiecing it in the newest snapshot.
I Can confirm that this bug still is in the snapshot.
Hey, I have been experiecing this problem also in 14w11b
Commandblock just don't seem to be doing anything at all
I used the map Remnant from fyreuk into the new snapshot and every commandblock is doing nothing.
I have noticed what is happing
it doesnt not notice @a[score_a=0] after the score got reset for the person but if you set the score to 0,
its start to notice the actuall score again.
Yes, Sorry I completly forgot, yes it still is visible in the newest snapshot, I shall update the mainpost
No, It seems to be fixed, or downsized in such a why that I am no longer noticing it
On my Realms I did /say @e and it gave me the error:
internal Exception: io.netty.handler.codec.DecoderException: java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException: readerIndex(1) + length(1) exceeds writerIndex(1): UnpooledHeapByteBuf(ridx: 1, widx: 1, cap: 1)
Yes it does
@Bemoty
Its seems /data merge doesn't seem to override the data in signs as it probably should. it just add the data onto the already existing data causing very big nbt data per sign affected. I have a world where the signs updated with that command just get heavier and heavier to render for the engine. causing significant performances issues. I have a video of me removing those 4 signs in my world, which allows my fps to go from around 20 to 400 fps.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JueQiTjLBR0&feature=youtu.be
and this is still an issue in Minecraft 1.13-pre1
I would say that
MC-123194is the result of problems with this /data mergeyeah but everything else with a list returns a text message into chat when a player executes it, except this one
It seems that it has to do with the maximum amount of an Int32.
but for gameticks instead of seconds. So calculated back from that the maximum amount of seconds is: 107,374,182 you can fill in and have it work.
Any more and there will be a overflow in calculations.
Fun fact: if you gives yourself /effect @s night_vision 214748366 0
it results in an overflow that only provides 24 gameticks of night vision.
I suggest either giving a message back that the maximum filled in time cannot be bigger than 107,374,182, or increase the integer for effects and duration to Int64.
