Can't play Minecraft JavaMinecraft Launcher doesn't "play" Minecraft Java
Bought Minecraft off the official site, downloaded Minecraft Launcher from the Microsoft store with difficulty (wasn't downloading and installing [stuck on pending]). After finally getting the Minecraft Launcher, I install Minecraft Java and get an error similar to the last image below (unable to locate the java runtime).
So Idelete the .minecraft folder from appdataand now I get the internal error message when I press play (second image).
Prior to deleting the .minecraft folder, I could see the installations and patch notes now nothing comes up on both tabs (first image).
Any advice/help on this would be appreciated.

Is the windows 7/8 version of the launcher on minecraft's site?
None of those options worked, same error message comes up.
