I was testing out the snapshot and discovered a cave under a surface pond. When I dropped down there and placed a torch, the light levels failed to update. See screenshot.
The torch is also invisible.
The problem seems to correct itself after i remove the torch and place it down again.
I was underground equipped with a stone sword (no bow) and I encountered a skeleton. As is my custom, i run away for about 16 blocks from the skeleton so it follows me around a blind corner. Then I get a couple of hits in before it shoots me.
The skeleton never followed me though, so I went and spammed the attack key with my sword until it died.
It didn't shoot me once.
My local game difficulty is Normal.

I am trying to get a cow to follow me into an enclosure. I have wheat in hand and am less than 5 blocks away from the cow. The cow has to jump up 1 layer to get to me. It just keeps jumping in place, I cannot get it to follow me up a single block jump.
I can get around this problem by placing half slabs or stairs and then having the cow follow me up that, but I expected the mob to be able to jump up a single block.

I also tried having seeds in hand and enticing a chicken to follow me up a series of jumps, but it has the same behavior.

Sheep have the same behavior when i am standing 1 layer above the sheep and holding wheat. The sheep has entered follow mode, but jumps in place upon encountering a block that is 1 higher than their current level.

Attaching a lead to the desired mob also works to get the mobs to jump up single layers.
I started a new game on creative mode using snapshot 14w31a. I flew around until I found an ocean monument. I switched to survival mode and used the internal give command to grant myself diamond helmet, diamond chestplate, diamond leggings, diamond boots, potion of night vision (8 min duration), and a potion of underwater breathing (8 min duration).
I equipped the diamond armor, drank the night vision potion and underwater breathing potion and started to swim toward the monument.
As I approached, a guardian mob engaged me in combat. I saw the animation of the beam directed toward me but before I took damage, the game crashed.
Attached is the crash report.
I reloaded the world to see if I could duplicate the problem and i received damage without the game crashing. I kept on swimming around and the game crashed again right as a sound started to play (I think it is the Elder Guardian noise, but I am not sure...
Attached is the second crash report.
I have a world that I play using minecraft 1.7.10.
Using creative mode I have built a zombie pigman farm where zombie pigman fall to their deaths after stepping on a pressure plate and being pushed into a trench by a piston. At the bottom of the trench are hoppers chained together so where ever the zombie pigman dies a hopper picks up the dropped loot and sends down the chain until it reaches a collection chest. On top of the hoppers are half slabs. Where I stand is right next to the chest on y = 5.5. The collection chest is directly below and to the side of the trenches so I can hear the zombie pigman dying.
I have modified the environment to the point that no zombie pigman can spawn within 128 blocks of where I stand in the collection area unless they spawn on the spawning pads directly above. The spawning layers are as following: y=35 y=40 y=45 y=50 y=55.
I know that no zombie pigman can spawn outside of the farm because I have removed all nether rack from layers y = 32 to y = 122 inclusive and layer 32 is lava source blocks. I also know that there are no caves in the remaining nether rack layers y < 32 and y
<122.I copied the world out of the saves folder for minecraft 1.7.10 and pasted it into the saves folder for minecraft 14w32d.
I then launched minecraft and monitored the collection chest. I stopped hearing zombie pigman dying and my chest stopped filling with rotten flesh and gold ingots.
I think that spawning is broken somehow.

Update: after flying around the spawning pads for a few minutes in creative mode with F3 debug information displaying, I did occasionally see one or two zombie pigman. However, my E value in the debug information has only gone up to 4 on the right hand side (ex: 0/4 1/4 etc). Is the spawning algorithm thread being cut short or something?

I created a new world for testing the upcoming changes using minecraft 1.7.10.
In that world in creative mode, I used a spawn egg to produce an ocelot. I then tamed the ocelot so it became a cat.
I told the cat to sit down.
Then I copied the world over to my snapshots save folder and opened it in 1.8 pre release 2.
Now every time i click on the cat or baby cat to tell to sit down, it generates more cats in the same location.
I did not expect cat entities to duplicate when telling them to sit.
Edit: I created a new world using the 1.8 pre release 2 and spawned in an ocelot and tamed it and told it to stand and sit repeatedly, but I cannot get new baby cats to spawn like I did above.
I am exploring a world created on 1.8 pre2 and am now using 1.8 pre 3.
For my world type I selected large biomes.
Every time I come across some rabbits while exploring the terrain, there is always 1 adult rabbit and 2 baby rabbits. The rabbits are of the different skin types so that is normal.

I built up to y=254 in creative mode in a 1.8 pre3 world.
I tried to place another block on top but it never places.
I can use a piston to push a block into y=255 and when I try to place a block on top I get the expected message of "Height limit for building is 256 blocks"
But I get no message at y=254, the block just fails to place.
Is this by design?

I was testing out the 1.8.2 pre 1 snapshot and created a new world.
I built a nether portal in creative mode and traveled through it.
I flew around for a while and then placed another nether portal to go back to the overworld.
When I returned i could not move out of the nether field. I could punch blocks and open the creative inventory and place blocks, but the game wouldn't let me move away.
In addition my screen was rapidly moving up and down much faster than jumping but I wasn't pressing space
I took a look at the F3 debug screen and my Y coordinate was rapidly changing by little increments up and then back down and up again.
So I quit the game and reloaded the world. My character is still stuck in the nether field. and the Y coordinate looks funny. It is stuck at 39.96573.
I can move from 1250.300 to 1250.700 in the x coordinate and -16.300 to -16.700 in the z coordinate, but I cannot leave block 1250 39, -17.
After I use the /kill command I can move freely again.
After I respawned I teleported to a brand new area of the map and build another portal to the nether, flew around and built another portal to the overworld and went through just fine.
I don't know if I can reproduce this...
After coming through nether portal for the first time cannot move

Crash report for when I loaded my world and minecraft quit and took me back to the launcher
In response to Haz, this is a world that I created when minecraft 1.7.2 was released. No chunks were generated using 1.6.2 or 1.6.4
In response to Mod CubeTheThird, I mean that minecraft crashed right after I selected my world, and saw the Loading Chunks splash screen. The game didn't even let me get started. It took me back to the launcher and showed me a crash report.
I just tested this again in minecraft 14w31a. It works as expected now, i don't see the sky anymore.
Whatever bugs you fixed must have fixed this as well.
Thanks
Never mind the skeletons have started chasing me. And I have been shot by skeletons.
They seem to take longer than before to engage, but I no evidence of this.
This is still broken for the end exit portal in 14w31a. I didn't check the other locations specified in the description.
Attached is a screen shot.
This still seems like they are too slow to react in 14w33c.
I was on a mountain about 10 horizontal blocks and 2 vertical blocks away from a spawned in skeleton. I approached without sprinting and proceeded to attack with my stone sword. The skeleton didn't shoot me once before it died. Usually it is able to get one shot in.
However if I come within about 9 blocks away and stand there it takes a couple of seconds for the skeleton to realize that I am within shooting distance and does start to track me and shoot me.
My local difficulty is still Normal.
I don't think that this is limited to just skeletons.
A zombie started tracking me from a good distance away and when it came close, i turned around to engage. I jump-attacked the zombie and scored a critical hit and the zombie seemed to forget that I was there. It stopped pursuing and just stood there and looked around for maybe 1 to 1 1/2 seconds. It "remembered" that I was there and started to engage again.
14w33c
This still happens occasionally when I place a torch in 14w33c
Inside one of the floors for pigman to spawn in
Copied farm into a redstone ready template and removed the ceiling to provide a more complete picture of what the inside looks like
Is it true that zombie pigman can spawn in two blocks of air on nether rack and nether rack covered with wooden planks?
If I can assume that then I calculate 772 available blocks to spawn on per level.
(26 blocks * 2 - 8) * 2 //each end with the piston blocks subtracted out
+ (46 blocks * 2 - 16) * 9 //each row with the piston blocks subtracted out
88
+ 684
=772
Oh right. I feel dumb now.
If I click on my tamed cat without the spawn egg in hand, it no longer duplicates even in creative mode.
I have seen this in 1.8 pre 3

I went back through the development versions and recreated the same world on all the development versions that are still available since rabbits were introduced.
I teleported to the first coordinates in the list to observe how the game spawned in rabbits. Here are the results:
WorldType: Large Biomes
Seed: 305442117
Observed rabbits at location: X:2000 Y:68 Z:339
14w27b - minecraft spawns 5 adult rabbits of different skins

14w31a - minecraft spawns 5 adult rabbits of different skins
14w32d - minecraft spawns 5 adult rabbits of different skins
14w33c - minecraft spawns 5 adult rabbits of different skins
14w34d - minecraft spawns 1 adult rabbit and 2 baby rabbits of the same skin
1.8pre3 - minecraft spawns 1 adult rabbit and 2 baby rabbits of the same skin
I visited the wiki page for rabbits (http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Rabbit) but it did not provide any hints about how the group spawn behavior is intended to work.
All I am really wondering is if the group spawn behavior of 1 adult rabbit and 2 baby rabbits is intended or not. I guess I expected something more random.
Still present in 1.8
When I take a look at the decompiled EntityWolf file using MCP 9.03, there is a canDespawn method. This method will return true if the entity is not tamed and 2400 ticks have elapsed.
Can somebody please confirm?
(not sure if this helps or not)
I tested this out on 1.8.2 pre 1 and I can see the smelting animation when I sleep under the sky facing the furnace. But if I go underground and smelt, and sleep in my bed facing the furnace, then the smelting animation does not occur.
I tested this on the latest snapshot (1.8.2 pre 1) and it still happens
This still happens on 1.8.2 pre 1 in terms of trying to place a block.
It also produces the same outcome if I try adding the snow layers at the top of the world.
Question ...? Should this be two bugs?
This still happens on 1.8.2 pre 1
I can't reproduce this in 1.8.2 pre 1.
I tried normal cave crawling and placing torches.
I tried flying around caves in creative mode and randomly placing torches.
I flew around at night over plains biomes and set torches on the ground
I went to the nether and tried the same things
I even changed my brightness setting from bright to moody and tried to reproduce it.
I changed my brightness setting back to bright and tried some more.
I can't think of anything else to try.
I guess this is a case of not reading the updated wiki.
I visited http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Bunny
and saw that the expected behavior is 1 adult and 2 babies.
Thank you very much.
Sorry I didn't check the wiki before posting my comment about 45 minutes ago.
I managed to reproduce the problem by creating a new world, building a portal and traveling to the nether and then flying away to build another portal to take me back to the overworld in a new location. When I went through the portal, I was flying in midair instead of walking like I would in survival mode.
In the screen shot from this second world, I cannot move away from block -2280 28 -1006
I started up a new world in 16w46a and flew around until I found some bunnies.
seed -68806674309987188816
approximate coordinates
x 923
z -1158
I say approximate coordinates because the bunnies now run away if I get close to them.
I encountered an adult white bunny and two baby white bunnies.
According to the wiki that is available at the time of this post players should expect that they will get 1 adult bunny and two baby bunnies.

I posted this bug before it was clear that this is intended functionality. My apologies.
I don't want to tell mojang what the intended functionality is, but from what I understand from reading the wiki and the experience I had on 15w46a, I would say that rabbit spawning in consistent groups is intended.
I am experiencing the same problem on 15w49a.
Here is my crash report.
Edit: I do not experience this problem on 15w47c
I also experience this crash if I open a world created in 15w47c and try to place a chest I crafted, or even just an oak wood log that I just harvested with my hand. I stopped testing blocks after these two.
