Is this 1.16.4 G6 or G7? G7 has an issue were it requires a certain version of the launcher (2.2.1862). You have to go to the json file of OptiFine and remove the 'minimum version' or what ever is called. Here is a quick video showing how to do this. https://streamable.com/zliaut
