This is still happening in Bedrock v1.20.71.
I haven't yet successfully captured a broken minecart. 100% of them have been lost. The workaround above did not work.

The workaround above did not work. 100% of all carts broken by this method in my creative world are being lost. I tested the workaround in Survival as well, just in case. Same result.
I have the same issue using Android 4.4.2 on my Samsung tablet. My son had it on his at first, but after he bought and installed the Plastic Texture Pack it was no longer happening. My guess is it's something to do with the default Texture Pack not rendering correctly at a distance of more than 16? blocks from the player.
Same thing happened to me. I opened a bug in the PC Realms. Here's the text:
"Not 100% on the version# above - I just started playing Realms using MCPE 0.15.0 2 days ago.
Breaking a chest that has contents in it seems to lose some or all of the contents. The first time I did it I did get some of the contents, but later noticed some had disappeared, I didn't know why at the time. I can't guarantee the disappearance wasn't due to a chest inventory bug. I didn't connect it with breaking the chest until later.
The next time I broke a chest, everything disappeared."
Confirmed in 0.15.0 and 0.15.1. Did not notice it in 0.14, but have had to rebuild a few times in 15 when I got too close and they took out parts of my walls. Using Android 4.4.2
Fixed for me in 0.15.1 on Android 4.4.2.
Received version 0.15.2 last night. Built a chest with 1 seed in it. Broke it, lost the seed. Samsung galaxy, android v4.4.2.
Is realms now where we place MCPE realms bugs? I placed one here and got told to put them in MCPE.
I converted an unused survival world to Creative and placed 3 creepers in a pond, then converted the world back to Survival. As soon as the world loaded, one of the creepers blew up, taking the other 2 with it. But the wall it was next to was not damaged.
Version 0.15.4 Android on a Samsung Galaxy Tab.
Using Win10 on Realms, the crash occurred (delayed a few seconds as mentioned above) after placing the item frame. I tested it with and without trying to add an item to the frame, and it happened regardless. The instigator appears to be just placing the frame, and it doesn't matter if you try to put anything in it.
Win10 - v 016.1 - I was able to place Item Frames and items into them, without causing a crash.
Same as Realms-180
Same as
REALMS-180I swapped to my son's account, and was able to log in.
I logged my son's account in on the Android tablet, and mine on the Win10 PC. Son's account could see me standing in a Nether Portal. Commands were being sent, and I was able to back out of it using the tablet to watch where I was going. Closing MCPE on Win10 and reopening it, I was able to connect and log in and play normally.
So the issue does appear to be that it crashes occasionally when going thru a Nether Portal, and if you are in a Nether Portal when logging in, the display never successfully opens up.
I don't know if this is related, but when you step through a Nether Portal, you can't see anything but swirling purple until you walk away. Too bad for you if the Nether Portal happens to be over a drop into lava. In 0.15, the swirling purple would eventually fade, but in 0.16 so far, it never does.
Same thing happened to me last night. Trying to reconnect to the server from my Win10 computer or Android tablet results in a crash.
It is not just dying in the Nether - I've done that plenty in the last couple of weeks.
I've been killed by Ghasts and lava both with no problems. This was my first encounter with a Blaze since the new version rolled out, and the only time it's crashed of this magnitude.
TMO
I'm told though that the crash did not affect one of my other players. So the crash isn't in the server, it's in the player's client.

I'd fought Blazes before v1.0.0 came out, no problem. This was the first encounter with them with this version, and it was a single Blaze, single shot. And I have to reboot my computer/tablet completely after the crash.
I have months of work in this Realms, and I'd really rather not lose all of that over this.
TMO
Trying to enter my Realms game in 1.0.3 on PC caused my entire PC to freeze, needing a reboot. None of the other accounts in my Realms are affected, and can all still play as normal.
TMO
Just tried to connect again on my Android tablet, running v1.0.4. It got to the "Done" screen of the load before crashing.
I've gone into the Nether and the Blazes just sat around and didn't attack me. I've fought the Blazes once also. I have not died to a Blaze attack, and I'm not about to risk my surviving account to test it and find out.
I've no desire to restart this world if I can help it.
One thing I may have noticed - I don't think I've seen any complaints about this happening in a personal game, not in Realms. Does anyone know of this happening not in a Realms server?
TMO
Yes, it works. You do also have to have cheats enabled to enter the code.
I am logged in and playing under my own account again.
As a side effect of switching to Creative and enabling Cheats, either one of them alone means you can never again gain Achievements on this server. A small price to pay for being able to play again, imho.
TMO
I've managed to unfreeze us both, by closing MCPE, reopening it, joining the Realm and immediately backing up.
It appears to be at least 1 chunk in the Nether that has the problem. It's not just a single Ghost block, it's an entire area that no one can enter. And I'd been going through it multiple times before this happened.
This issue still exists in 1.1.5 on Win10. There's a spot in my Nether where I can not go, because it freezes up my entire MCPE Win10 app. I have to Alt-F4 it, then Alt-Tab to get my mouse cursor back, then run MCPE, rejoin the Realm and immediately start backing out of the affected zone. If I'm fast enough with the retreat, it doesn't freeze up on me again.
Confirmed for Win10 v1.6.1. Multiple skeleton horses just sickening and dying for no discernable reason. I was unable to feed them apples, and didn't have any other food handy, although I tried bones and rotten flesh, just in case.
