This issue started one night while I was exploring the nether. There were 2 ghasts, 7-10 blazes in the area. I ran between them where I had previously died to gather my dropped items. A ghasts explosion hit me pretty much dead on, and ever since, my ui couldn't be turned on without making me crash.
I've taken a copy of my realm and turned it into a creative world... playing like that, offline, I can enable my UI just fine and play normally.
