Have to wait on the Java updates till I go into town and use the public wifi and do all the other system updates. Family of three, can't waste the tiny download cap on updates else the ISP punishes you if you go over the limit by slowing you down to 16KB/s for a week. At least they don't fine or charge you extra.
But I don't see how that will help as it doesn't matter which java, os, computer, mac, linux, windows, etc.. I've had this invisible block problem since Minecraft Beta when I first started doing muliplayer with friends. My friends can bring their own crap over and use my internet and it does it on their computers too.
I'm just asking in the next update of Minecraft can they make the server update the players client with blocks they collide with, stand on, fly into, etc so those stupid invisible blocks correct themselves. Mine out a huge area.. run into an unmined invisible block.. server pushes you back because there really is something there.. sends block update to client.. block becomes visible.. player can then mine it again for real... continue Minecrafting...
I'm not in a position were I can move to a better location and there isn't any other internet service in the area so I am stuck with Satellite internet. Which has a huge latency. My friends call me "The Lagger of Death."

Minimal packet loss.. disconnect and dropped from servers less often then my friends on dsl and broadband. The busiest time of the day it goes up to 2200ms.
Other then invisible blocks randomly happening while mining and just having to wait a while for things to happen Minecraft is the best high latency supporting game I've played. Heck it's about the only one that is even playable. Can't do FPS. MMO games are all server sided.. so press a button... 2 seconds later.. avatar moves... Turn based games like Civ 4 suck the most.. they time out and disconnect the most. go figure.
I suck at writing. Though of a better way of describing my problem.
When connected to a server there is the true copy of the map on the server. Server is always right. Then there is the loaded chunks on the client. The server can't trust the client side so player movement and block/object collision is checked on the server end to make sure the player isn't walking threw walls or illegally flying but for the most part each player's movement is client sided and is just sent to the server to pass out to the other players. When the player makes an illegal movement, like walking into or through a block the server tries to correct by pushing the player back to the last legal location. Almost like a mini-tp. If no legal location can be found the server kicks them with a warning error. Well while mining lazily and fast with diamond tools the muliplayer sync can't keep up on my internet because of the high ping and a few blocks register mined and disappear on my end, my client, but the server does not get this. Walking into the area were these blocks really are the server sees it as a illegal movement and pushing me back. Rejoining the server updates everything which then I can see the blocks or placing a block were the invisible block is makes it reappear. But having to stop and get rid of the out of sync blocks every few mins while strip mining or mining a tunnel gets old.
A simple fix would be to include the data on the block that caused the illegal movement on the server end in the packet to the client when it's forced moved back to a legal location. The invisible block would be updated and become visible again. Able to be mined.
Also "invisible blocks" are just air on the client side.
Whatever.. I'm just one unlucky crappy internet screwed player.
