Is there a Realm Support thread this can be migrated to for more support? Something obviously changed from yesterday but is this a bug or is this the new norm?
With all due respect the ticket you linked is tracking rendering distance issues for servers and not for Minecraft realms. This is why I created a separate ticket.
I appreciate the clarification. What (if any) actions do I need to take to have the general issue reviewed? I have no problem if it's tracked via another ticket as long as the overall issue is resolved.
If this ticket will be considered a duplicate, can somebody please link me the ticket that I should actually follow. I understand that there are quite a few duplicates right now.
I'm sorry but why is this being resolved when I'm still having the same render distance issue. I just attached photos to show what I'm seeing. My chunks are set to 32, but I can barely see a mountain right in front of me. Can someone please provide an update on this?
Thanks for the follow up. Does it being in pre-release preclude me from being able to see/use it? If so is there an estimated release for the patch/update?
Thanks. I'm experiencing the same issue on my realms. Prior to the release I was able to have max render distance, but now it's stuck at 10. Nothing but fog.
I've always been able to have max render distance on my realm. I'm going to hold out hope that 1.18.1 will fix servers as well as Realms. If it doesn't then I will be following the new bug report that Jon-Jacob created.
I may be crazy but I feel like I was able to extend my render distance to max on my realm on 1.17. Anyways I really hope they show us to have farther render distance because 10 chunks really wastes the whole new caves and cliffs views.

+1 For me on poor render distance. Mine is on Minecraft Realms.

Just curious, is that on a server or a realm? I had a ticket open for realms but it was deprecated since it's a similar issue for servers.

Can confirm after playing with the render slider in the options menu, I am still stuck at 10 chunks. Any chance this ticket will be re-opened?
Addendum: I attached a screen grab to reflect the render distance set to 32 chunks, but only able to see 10.
