Double tapping to fly then immediately double tapping again will cause the player to do a hulk smash when wearing the Elytra. This could be used for fast travel in creative.

Try updating your drivers. Something similar to this happened to me and I had to update my drivers to fix it. Also, do you have Java installed?
I noticed this too before I saw this. It can be really annoying if you're jumping over blocks to get away from monsters.
